Italian media outlet Calciomercato Napoli have indicated that Real Madrid are interested in signing Spurs favourite Son Heung-Min this summer as they step up their rebuild project.

Interestingly, second-time boss Zinedine Zidane is reported (Marca via Metro) to have dropped interest in Christian Eriksen in favour of Paul Pogba, currently employed by Manchester United. And now Son Heung-Min has also been earmarked for a move.

The value of Son lies in the fact that he has stepped up to the plate when Spurs have needed him most. Following Harry Kane’s injury complications earlier in the year, for example, the attacker operated as a centre forward and performed the role very competently, all things considered, bagging two goals in as many games – including a particularly pleasing performance against Watford which saw him claim Man of the Match award and an 8.35 rating from WhoScored.

In fact, we could argue, and others may agree, that Son offered a different dimension to Spurs’ attack when he replaced Kane; one layered with speed, mobility and agility; options to go over the top and to the feet, and the ability to run in behind and cause havoc. Indeed, it’s an outlet you don’t get when fielding the admittedly lethal but slower Kane.

ESPN even spoke of his work at the time, praising him for proving the club can deal without the England captain.

So, it goes without saying, really, to avoid devastating the club’s chances of success next season, Spurs must hold onto their Son outlet otherwise they’re critically limiting their options when plan A (Kane) doesn’t work.

The South Korea international, who is currently valued at £58.50 million by football database Transfermarkt, has enjoyed one of his most fruitful periods in white having scored 20 goals and created a further 10 in 48 games this term. It doesn’t take a genius to appreciate Spurs will struggle to find a proven player with that kind of output, especially given their apparent phobia of the transfer market (not one single signing made since 2017/18).

وقال هشام حطب في تصريحات تلفزيونية عبر قناة اون تايم سبورتس: “لأن رئيس مجلس الإدارة السابق (مرتضى منصور) هو الذي وقع وهو ليس له أي صلاحيات لدينا، بالإضافة لوجود كشط، قرار الإيقاف لم يكن يخص الزمالك ولكن لشخص الرئيس السابق”.

وعن هل الزمالك لائحته تم الموافقة عليها؟، أجاب: “ممدوح عباس رفع دعوى قضائية ضد اللجنة الأولمبية لوقف اعتماد اللائحة وفاز بها، ونحن استأنفنا، والزمالك تدخل في صورة رئيسه السابق”.

وأكمل: “الآن استأنف الرئيس الحالي، وننتظر قرار المحكمة، ولو أيدت المحكمة الحكم سيتم بطلان اللائحة وسنعود للائحة القديمة، ولكن أي قانون يتم إلغاءه لا يتم إلغاء توابع تنفيذه السابقة وتظل الأمور كما هي”.

وبسؤاله هل شكوى الزمالك في الوزارة بالمحاكم العادية قانوني؟، أوضح: “نعم، أي قرار إداري لا يطعن عليه إلا في مجلس الدولة، وهذا إجراء قانوني”.

وتابع: “الوقف الحالي احترازي يمنع أي مجلس من العودة مرة أخرى لحين انتهاء تحقيقات النيابة، نقدر كيان نادي الزمالك ولا خلاف على ذلك، الزمالك لم يتأثر بأي قرارت ويسير في طريقة ووصل لنهائي إفريقيا، نحن ننفذ لائحة على أشخاص وليس على حوائط نادي الزمالك”.

وعن إرسال الاتحاد الدولي طلب استفسار عن ما حدث في الزمالك؟، أوضح: “ونحن قمنا بالرد وشرحنا الحيثيات، وأكدنا إننا اتبعنا كل المواثيق الدولية، وقلنا أن الخصم كان من حقه أن يطعن على قراراتنا ولكنه لم يفعل”.

واختتم: “قرار وقف مرتضى منصور 4 سنوات نهائي ولا رجعة فيه لأنه لم يطعن عليه في المدة القانونية، وهذا الموضوع منتهي”.

As reported by Sky Sports, Liverpool and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are close to agreeing a new 12-month extension to the midfielder’s current contract which still has three more years left to run on it.

The England international signed for the Reds in a £35m deal from Arsenal in the summer of 2017, but saw an impressive debut campaign at Anfield cut short by a serious knee injury suffered against Roma in the semi-finals of the Champions League.

It was an injury that ruled him out for almost the entirety of his second season as a Liverpool player, making his comeback in a 5-0 win over Huddersfield towards the end of the campaign – he was an unused substitute in the Champions League final against Tottenham.

Given the fact that he missed a year out injured, it seems that the Merseysiders are keen to offer him that year back in the form of a contract extension.

“Liverpool would be getting things absolutely spot on by offering Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain a new deal. For me, he’s the missing piece of the jigsaw for a title challenge. Their midfield arguably still has some work to do in order to match Manchester City’s but Oxlade-Chamberlain would certainly help them get closer to their level. On his day he’s a frightening player and he showed that before his terrible injury in 2018. This is a player who can prove crucial for Liverpool going forward.”

We don’t know how well he has recovered from that, but we should know by now to trust Jurgen Klopp and his team’s judgement. “In my opinion, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is a tricky one. There’s very little doubting the player’s world-class ability when fit but that’s the issue, he finds it incredibly hard to avoid the treatment table. If Jurgen Klopp is confident that his medical team can keep the 25-year-old fit, then by all means extend his contract. However, if he’s not then it’s a risk. Oxlade-Chamberlain is contracted until 2022 anyway so maybe it would be a better move to wait a year or two before making this decision.”

Loads of Newcastle fans have been reacting to an update from Bleacher Report, who claim whoever replaces Rafael Benitez will not be given control over transfer activity.

According to Dean Jones of Bleacher Report, Rafa’s replacement will be allowed to bring just one assistant coach with him and will not have the final say on transfers.

Benitez’s exit was officially confirmed on Monday by the club, and now the chase is on to find a new manager before the season begins.

With a potential takeover bid from the Bin Zayed Group still totally up in the air and now no one in the dugout either, St. James’ Park is absolutely shrouded in uncertainty.

وأكد الصحفي الإسباني أن مدرب برشلونة، رونالد كومان، قد تناقش حول تلك الأسماء مع أحد المرشحين لرئاسة برشلونة في ديسمبر الماضي دون الكشف عن اسمه.

الجدير بالذكر أن صفقة بيرنات هي أولوية كبيرة لدى المرشح الحالي لرئاسة برشلونة، فيكتور فونت، الذي يرغب في التعاقد مع الإسباني واستغلال نهاية عقده مع باريس سان جيرمان.

Raul Jimenez, who initially signed on loan from Benfica last summer, turned into one of the Premier League’s signings of the season at Wolves in the 2018/19 campaign. He bagged 13 goals and finished the season as the club’s top goal scorer, playing a starring role in Wolves’ seventh-place finish.

He was also a creative force, recording eight assists, and establishing an excellent understanding with Diogo Jota up front.

Jack Clarke’s move to Tottenham has finally happened, but the deal has also seen him return to his former club on loan.

The 18-year-old will be spending another season at Elland Road, but after starting just four games last term will he get more opportunities under Marcelo Bielsa?

Winger options

With the arrivals of Jack Harrison and Helder Costa, Leeds’ wide areas are now somewhat oversaturated. Realistically, the Whites have four senior players who could be ahead of Clarke in the pecking order in Costa, Harrison, Ezgjan Alioski and Pablo Hernandez.

All four of these players have more experience than Clarke and other than Costa they contributed to more goals than the 18-year-old last season.

Will he start?

There may simply be too much depth in these positions for the Spurs loanee to be seen as a starter.

Harrison was Bielsa’s preferred option last term as he made 39 appearances, and there is an argument to be made that Alioksi is even better than the Man City man.

On the right-wing, you have last season’s Player of the Year, and a man who has put up some extraordinary numbers when playing in the Championship.

For these reasons, it’s hard to see the teenager playing any role other than the one he played last season where he was a bit-part player.

Being signed by the Champions League runners-up shows that Clarke is a highly-rated player with a bright future, but it’s tough to see Bielsa trusting him with a regular starting role due to his lack of experience.

Fortunately for the youngster, he is a fantastic option from the bench having made 20 substitute appearances last season, and Bielsa won’t hesitate to use him in that way once again for the upcoming campaign.
